The economics of last-mile delivery rarely favour the conventional van. On tight urban routes, a full-size Transit spends more time crawling, circling for parking, and idling than it does actually delivering – and every one of those minutes carries a cost. For the high-frequency, short-hop work that dominates city logistics, operators have long needed something smaller, cheaper to run, and far easier to place exactly where the job is. The Derry Neomor D01, available in the UK through MicroVolt, was designed for precisely that brief.
The D01 delivers a top speed of 44 mph and a range of up to 74 miles – more than enough for a full day of urban routes between charges, with a 4–6 hour top-up and a five-year battery warranty for peace of mind. Despite a compact footprint that slips into spaces a standard van would never attempt, it offers a genuinely useful 1.8m³ of cargo volume and a 290 kg payload, backed by ABS/EBD braking that keeps it composed even when fully loaded. A 20%+ climbing capability means city gradients are no obstacle, and full EEC certification makes it ready for serious commercial duty from day one.
What also makes the D01 so versatile is how readily it adapts to the work in hand. The rear can be configured as a box, pick-up, or flat bed, with refrigeration and other bespoke options available, plus graphics and full vehicle wrapping for operators who want their fleet to do double duty as branding. Drivers need an L7e-compatible full driving licence, sidestepping the recruitment challenges that come with motorcycle-based alternatives, while the single-seat cabin keeps the focus squarely on efficient, dependable daily operation.
In our latest video, we take the Derry Neomor D01 for a proper hands-on look – exploring its cabin, performance, cargo configuration, and exactly what makes it such a compelling proposition for fleet operators, delivery businesses, and trades looking to cut costs and emissions across the UK.
